Changelog
What's changed in each build.
Keep up with Harps. There's always something new in the works.
- Fixed the real source of slow transcription: the on-device cleanup step (removing filler words, tightening phrasing) now reuses a warmed-up AI session instead of starting a new one from scratch on every single capture.
- Transcription is significantly faster — the on-device speech model now stays loaded for the whole time Harps is running, instead of reloading before every single capture.
- Fixed a recurring crash that could happen shortly after finishing a recording, most noticeable on longer captures.
- The Overview stat cards now show a red down indicator when a number has dropped compared to last week, instead of silently showing nothing next to "vs last week."
- Switching between Today and other days in the sidebar now animates instead of snapping instantly.
- Added a Cancel button to the Transforms editor, next to Save.
- More breathing room in the Transforms text area, and wrapped bulleted/numbered list lines now indent correctly instead of falling back to the left margin.
- Polished the recent-captures refresh button's shape.
- Added a manual refresh button (on Overview and on Today's Transcripts view) to pull in captures recorded since the window was last opened.
- Fixed a crash that could happen when starting a new capture while the previous one was still transcribing.
- Deleting a transform (from the list or from inside it) now asks for confirmation instead of deleting immediately.
- Added a smooth transition when opening a transform from the list.
- Transforms now have a real editor: a formatting toolbar (headings, bold, italic, code, lists) with both a clean Rich Text view and a raw Markdown view, always in sync.
- Transcription is noticeably faster — the on-device speech model now loads once at launch instead of being rebuilt before every single capture.
- Fixed the transcribing indicator's animated dots and made its pill match the recording pill's size.
- Fixed the capture timer wrapping onto two lines on longer recordings.
- Added Transforms: on-device text clean-up rules applied automatically as you dictate, with a General Clean-up default and support for your own custom rules.
- Added a hotkey mode setting — hold-to-record or press-to-toggle.
- Clicking the Harps icon in the Dock or Applications now reliably opens the dashboard and switches the menu bar over, even across multiple displays and Spaces.
- The sidebar can now be resized freely, and its menu now shows icons.
- Polished copy/delete interactions throughout: hover states, a copy confirmation, and a Cancel/Delete confirmation step before deleting a capture.
- First public build of the Harps DMG, with the new icon and installer background.
